Minutes of May 2007 Meeting

Attendees Present: Susan Nibe, Dale Polmatere, Jenny Mazzurco, Bill Sohan, Sterling Gaston, Nick Sialmas, Jennifer Ryan, Mary Ann DeSanto, John DeSanto, Rafael Delgado, Kathy Queenan, Kathy Bauer, Ron Iarossi, Jake Jung, Pat Ryan, Pat Delfico, Peg Canniff, Michael Hayden, Neil Caplan, Lynne Kirschhoffer and Joanna Burnstein.

Guest Speaker:  Neil Caplan along with Pat Ryan with Bannerman’s Castle
This year the foundation was fortunate enough to have  received a grant of 350,000.  Plans to replant the gardens are being made.  The gardens should be done by July and in full bloom by the Fall.  Neil asked for support from the group to advertise in their new brochure.  In addition, Neil reached out to the hotels to package tours.  It is a wonderful tour being offered back for the public to see this treasure right in our backyard!

Craft Fair:              June 3, 2007
Joanna reported that 91 vendors were registered this year vs. last year’s 101 vendors.  There still is some time to gain some more vendors.  Advertising was run in 3 newspapers in addition to all the circulated flyers.  Joanna assured everyone that it would be a well advertised event.  Pat Delfico agreed to design artwork for hats and Tee-Shirts—it was too late to design something for Rock-around the Clock.

Rock around the Clock:  May 12, 2007
Joanna Burnstein reported that to date 42 vendors were signed up.  The committee works really hard to make this event a family, fun-filled event.  Dutchess Beer offered to replace the 20 lost signs for this event (a cost of $25/ sign). Bill and Mike to check into the Liquor license for the event.
