The Village and Town of Fishkill are located in southern Dutchess County, New York, in the scenic Mid-Hudson Region of the Hudson River Valley. First settled in the early 1700’s, the Town of Fishkill was created in 1788, while the Village of Fishkill was incorporated in 1899. The kill part in the name is actually the Dutch word for stream or creek and is common in the names of many communities in the area, which was settled by the Dutch in the early 1600's.
The area retains the small town charm of its historic past while offering the amenities and services expected of a growing modern community. The Fishkill area has much to offer: breathtaking river views, great mountain trails, historic sites, warm and friendly accommodations, and fine dining. We invite you to visit Fishkill and enjoy the Hudson Valley Region.
