Ann Margarette LaGoy established Home Assistance Cleaning Service, a residential and commercial cleaning service, when she moved to the Hudson Valley in 1996.
Prompted by her own acute reaction to chloromine gas in 1999, Ann developed a line of 100% natural, cruelty-free cleaning products. Ann continues to research contents and effects of chemical cleaners on humans, animals and the environment. Ann also speaks and writes on this topic to increase public awareness.
In 2003, Ann sold Home Assistance Cleaning Service to focus on Sound Earth, LLC and community activism. Ann has worked since 1998 as an activist in the Hudson Valley focusing on environmental preservation, community education and individual participation in the democratic process at the local, state, and federal levels of government.
In 2001 Ann co-established Fishkill Ridge Community Heritage and has since served as its president. Fishkill Ridge Community Heritage is a community-based organization dedicated to meeting the challenge of change, growth, and conservation within the Hudson Valley.
In 2007 Ann was appointed to the Town of Fishkill's Environmental Board, and served for two years. In that time, Ann helped organize the completion of a walking trail on the Mt. Gulian property in Fishkill, facilitated an environmental audit for the Town Hall, and served as a resource to the community.
Currently, Ann serves as secretary on the board of Friends of the Fishkill Supply Depot, a group dedicated to preserving the last acres of the Revalutionary War Supply and Encampment located in Fishkill.
